Fuel Pricing — Data Sources & Disclaimer

How we gather marine fuel prices, what the badges mean, and the limits of this information.

Where our prices come from

Captain May I aggregates marine fuel pricing from three channels:

Web — compiled from publicly available marine fuel price directories. We sample these sources on a weekly schedule and display the marina's own self-reported date alongside each price. We do not alter the underlying data.

Verified — submitted directly by the marina after they claim their listing on Captain May I. Verified updates carry the highest level of trust but are still subject to the accuracy of the marina's reporting.

User reported — submitted by authenticated Captain May I members (Pro tier and above) who have recently fueled at or visited a marina. Every user-reported price is attributed to a named account and is sanity-checked against the most recent Web/Verified baseline; submissions that diverge significantly are rejected automatically.

Important disclaimer

We do not guarantee accuracy. Fuel prices change frequently and often without notice. The dates shown reflect when a price was last sampled or reported — not the current price at the pump. Always confirm pricing directly with the marina before fueling.

Captain May I, its operators, and its contributors are not liable for any inaccuracies in the displayed data, for decisions made in reliance on this data, or for any resulting expense, loss, or inconvenience.

User-reported prices are observations, not endorsements. A user report does not constitute a commitment by the marina to sell at that price.

Freshness color coding

Each marina shows a small colored indicator of how recently the price was reported:

≤ 7 days fresh — 8–30 days recent — 31–90 days stale — 91+ days old

Stale and old prices are shown for context only and should be treated as historical. A marina's "stale" status is often just an artifact of their own reporting cadence — it is not a judgment of the business.

Are you a marina?

We'd love to feature your current pricing. Email support@captainmayi.com to claim your listing and self-update your prices. Listings are free.

If a listing on our site contains an error, is out of date, or shouldn't be there at all, email us at the same address and we'll correct it.

Updates to this disclaimer

We may update this page from time to time as we add new data sources or refine our reporting policies. The current version applies to all prices displayed after the update date.
